1961 Epiphone Broadway E252 - PAF's - USA

In 1957 Epiphone was purchased by Gibson that relocated Epiphone's manufacturing operation to Gibson's Kalamazoo, Michigan factory, where production of both Gibson and Epiphone ranges took place until 1969, with Epiphone instruments generally considered equal in construction quality to those produced under the Gibson brand. Yet Epiphone guitars that were made in the late 50's and early 60's are much less expensive these days than their Gibson counterparts which makes them a fantastic value for money.

This model, the Epiphone Broadway E252, was Epiphone's flagship and the equal of any Gibson ES that came out of those doors in Kalamazoo, with all the deluxe appointments, - just beautiful. This guitar was built in 1961 with serial number 40716. The longer 25.5" scale and deep 17" body paired with the dual PAF mini humbuckers make this an excellent jazzbox but also crunchy blues and rock sound great with this guitar! Think of rock guitarist Ted Nugent using Gibson Byrdlands with similar hollow-body construction.

Very attractive Honey or Royal Tan sunburst finish. This Broadway is a full sized archtop guitar loaded with a pair of PAF mini humbuckers made with the same materials as their famous and expensive fullsize PAF counterparts of the time, they sound absolutely fabulous! This is a dream of a neck, the action is very low and smooth. It has the desiable 1-11/16 nut width. This guitar shows some light wear but overall it is quite clean with no structural issues. It has been pro-setup and needs nothing. It is all original except that the tip of one tuner has been replaced and the wooden bridge has been replaced with an ABR-1 for better intonation and a little more "attack" in the tone. Comes with the original case. Lightweight with only 2,95 kg.
