DESCRIPTION

The prototypes of the SPIN series were launched at the Cologne fair in 1994. This was a very broad initiative that was designed to meet the challenges in the big market for office and conference chairs.

The series included office chairs in high, low, wide and narrow versions and with four different types of armrest. It also included free-swing chairs and conference chairs with four legs

The series was ready for delivery only in 1996, still with the wide range of versions. The SPIN series was launched in three price groups: SPIN-BASIC, a reasonably priced model series with Primus fabric in four colours, SPIN-MEDIUM, in principle the same model type but available in a wide range of furniture fabrics, and finally SPIN-PLUS, an exclusive model series, with wider, higher backs and headrests for the highest.

The tilt mechanisms are identical on all the swivel chairs. The mechanism is concealed in the seat part and the balance is adjusted using the rifled sleeve around the centre part. The 5 star base is available in black, polished satin or polished.

The SPIN series recieved the DD prize from Dansk Designrad in 1997 and Burkhard Vogtherr was thus the first foreign designer to receive this prize.
