Lars Knudsen, born in Queensland 1931, began painting professionally in Europe where he had successful shows in London, Holland, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Lars returned to Australia in 1985 and achieved national acclaim with this Limited Edition Australian Bird Print series in association with Tooronga Zoo, Perth Zoo and the Queensland National Parks & Wildlife Service.

Lars Knudsen (1931 – 2004) grew up in North Queensland where he
became fascinated by the prolific birdlife, particularly the spectacular
species of the rainforests.
He spent many years in Sydney in advertising before leaving Australia in
1977 to set up a studio in Spain and paint full-time. The artist travelled
widely, painting birds of Europe, Asia and North America, and exhibiting in
solo shows in England, Germany, Spain, and Switzerland. In 1980, he was
elected by unanimous vote to the Society of Wildlife Artists in London.
Knudsen returned to Australia in 1985 and achieved national acclaim
with this Limited Edition print series in association with Tooronga Zoo,
Perth Zoo and the Queensland National Parks & Wildlife Service.
