Antieke cameo glazen vaas d'Argental, cfr Emile Gallé

Prachtige cameo glazen vaas van d'Argental, Paul Nicolas.

Paul Nicolas was vanaf 1893 een leerling van Gallé en later zijn meester designer.
Paul Nicolas, école de Nancy, (1875 - 1952),

In 1919 start hij onder zijn eigen naam en signeert met d'Argental.
Later komt zijn naam erbij in de signatuur.

2 gouden medailles en vele andere in de Salons de Paris.

Zijn vroege werk oa. deze vaas was uiteraard sterk beinvloed door Gallé en van dezelfde hoogwaardige kwaliteit!

Stunning cameo glass French art nouveau soliflore vase, by D'Argental, Paul Nicolas, St Louis.
Acid etched glass.
Signed : "d'Argental" . and the Lotharian cross.
Absolutely gorgeous acid etched decor of flowers in several different browns on a creamy background.
Superb workmanship!!!
Paul Nicolas, école de Nancy, (1875 - 1952), from 1893 onward pupil and later chief designer for Emile Gallé ,
He started working under his own name in 1919, with the support of Cristallerie de St Louis.
He first signed his pieces 'D'Argental'. Later on he adds his own name, sometimes with the mention of 'Nancy'.
He received 2 gold medals and several others over the years in the Paris Expositions!
His earlier D'Argental pieces (like this vase), were off course heavily influenced by Gallé and are of the same superb quality like those of the master glass maker Emile Gallé. They were typical for the 'Ecole de Nancy' art nouveau period.
